I ordered two meals from DoorDash. When the food got here, one of the meals had the meat wrong (ordered chicken fried steak, received some sort of other meat. Not sure what it was). The cabbage had a strange taste. We also ordered a crackling cornbread and a dinner roll, but they were not given to us. One of the mashed potatoes did not have gravy on it like we ordered. It’s disappointing because ordering food is a special treat with my family (pretty expensive), and when we had these issues tonight was a let down. I think the to go order system needs to be approved. Both meals being wrong is not good. It’s too bad because I used to come here as a kid and always enjoyed it. The mashed potatoes and Salisbury style steak were delicious, though.

Worst I have ever had from there. Even the crackling cornbread was stone cold and only had 1 crackling in the whole piece. I won't be back that is for sure. I have loved S&S my whole life but this trip definitely ruined it for me. It was awful and to think I spent $36. I could have gone somewhere and had a decent meal for that.

This was my first visit here. I understand the restaurant was remodeled after a fire, and it did look very modern and sleek on the inside. I was surprised that there were only two bathroom units and one stall for such a large restaurant in the men's room. The food choices were excellent, I went with the baked chicken that was slightly dry, but still tasty. The okra was good, but was only luke-warm in temperature, not hot. The macaroni and cheese was good, maybe needed more noodles and less breading. Biscuit was good and buttery. Dessert was excellent. Server checked on me three times. Staff was nice, but one almost ran into me as I was walking with my tray. Price for basic meal with water is excellent - add a drink and dessert and I paid just shy of $20, so yes the drink and dessert cost approximately 80% of your meal costs... I will probably go back soon though because I like and appreciate the cafeteria style restaurant, and overall it was a good value and great atmosphere.

Newly reopened. Food as good as ever and the service was very good. Our server helped my mom with her tray and quickly got us anything we ask for. Will be back.

7-10-24 I enjoyed my dinner tonight. Liver and onions, mashed potatoes and gravy, cabbage and a huge piece of chocolate creme pie. Delish! And the staff were very friendly and smiling! A refreshing change from other restaurants I’ve patronized and staff don’t speak nor smile! Kudos to S&S!
